The Winsome Chunnu Honorary Multicultural Scholarship will be awarded yearly to multicultural students enrolled at Ohio University.

Multicultural students eligible for the scholarship MUST BE A MEMBER of the following organizations: Black Student Cultural Programming Board, Black Student Union, Ohio Recruiting Society, Association of Multicultural Sports Professionals, Association of Black Journalist, National Society of Black Engineers, Black Student Business Caucus, Minority Association of Premedical Students,  National Pan Hellenic Council , Multicultural Greek Council,  National Association For The Advancement of Colored People, Anointed Ministries, Unified Sisters, African Student Union,  Salaam Student Union, Latin Student Union, Marvelous Dancers, Faces Modeling Club, Hip-Hop Congress, Athens Black Contemporary Dancers, Student Senate: Black Affairs Commission or Minority Affairs Commission.

About Dr. Winsome M. Chunnu:

Winsome M. Chunnu is the Director of the Multicultural Center at Ohio University. Her areas of research interest are race, educational policy, politics, and popular culture. Her work has appeared in edited collections such as Campus Uprisings: Understanding Injustice and the Resistance Movement (2020)Documenting the Black ExperienceEssays on African American History, Culture, and Identity in Nonfiction Films, and Before Obama: A Reappraisal of Black Reconstruction Era Politicians, as well as the journals International Journal of Qualitative MethodsPresent Tense: A Journal of Rhetoric in Society, and Cultural Studies, Critical Methodologies, among others. She has served as a guest editor for the journal Fashion, Style & Popular Culture (2021). Additionally, she is the co-editor of Historizing Fear: Ignorance, Vilification, and Othering, published (2019) by the University Press of Colorado. Winsome is currently working on her second book on the education policy implementation in Jamaica.
