Survival. It is impossible for a disabled couple to take care of each other and we need donations to prime a sustainable support system. If we were able to physically execute a fundraiser we would be able to work.
Kim saved her grandsons life while carrying him when she broke her back protecting him from a fall when she fell into an unmarked construction dig in the middle of a sidewalk. Legal counsel of some 20 firms refused to consider a case. Kim became disabled with no compensation.
Randy was subsequently forced to retire suddenly at age 62 with a shocking diagnosis of terminal cancer. We stare in disbelief at each other. There is nowhere to turn for help.
Medical expenses quickly consumed savings, and retirement fixed income is not adequate. See video for pictures and personal information.
When a couple is disabled, help is needed for basic things previously taken for granted. Your donation in addition to medical expenses will be applied to:
- Needed transportation that can accommodate Kim
- Yard and house work assistance as needed
- Dental work. Randy has lost many teeth and needs implants
- IRS taxes. Medical and disability no longer find deductions.
