What is Dimsle? Dimsle quickly and efficiently measures large amounts of small things from digital photos that contain one reference object of known size.
What is it for? Dimsle was originally written to measure thousands of otoliths for a diet study on Snares penguins. But it should work with any kind of (single-coloured) objects.
How does it work? It's simple. Upload an image of objects you want measured, identify your reference object (we recommend a coin) and download the analysis results in CSV format.
What do you need money for? Obviously hosting costs a bit. At the moment, our server has little computing power which makes the analysis rather slow. A faster server costs more money. Developing time of the beta version will be quite extensive and it will help tremendously if we can take a few days off our daytime jobs to focus on finishing it.
