About a year ago a friend of mine was signed by a local football club in Nigeria, we where happy for him three months in to the signing he started calling us to send him money to feed in camp because he has not being paid his salary for the passed three months. Not even his sign in fee has being paid. In November 2019 he had an injury during a football match and the club ask him to come back home and treat himself when he is ok he can resume playing, but it was not suppose to be so the club was suppose to be responsible for their wellbeing, but because the club is not financially stable no player has a medical insurance, so my friend came back home and refuse to go back to the club again. Many young and talented players have gone through this path and many will still go through it if nothing is done about it. If the clubs are financially ok, salaries will be paid, players will have medical insurance and players will not be running to other countries for Greener pasture.
