About Me

I am currently in my junior year majoring in psychology and minoring in Africana studies! I find the human brain to be fascinating and I often pondered on philosophical questions as a little girl. My inquisitive nature has fueled my desire to pursue questions that seem almost impossible to answer. My interest in Africana studies stems from my identity as a human being within the African diaspora. I am fortunate that my minor provides invaluable information regarding history. I have found that psychology can be studied and observed across many disciplines and even my personal life, which makes me even more interested in it.

I am excited for this wonderful study abroad opportunity because I enjoy learning about the way different parts of the world and also I like to immerse myself into different cultures! If you'd like to know more, please feel free to peruse my ePortfolio: https://dejabrow.wixsite.com/dejabrownlhsi

More Info

The Diversity Enrichment Achievement Program (DEAP), in collaboration with the Multicultural Center, is pleased to present this study abroad initiative that provides an immersive learning experience in Ghana for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Participants get a unique opportunity to enhance their understanding of other cultures, the world around them, and themselves. For most of our students, this is their first time to travel abroad—and for some, it’s their first time to travel at all. You can help make student aspirations of studying abroad a reality by donating to the program. Study abroad experiences have a direct impact on student learning, retention, and success—especially among populations that have been historically underrepresented.

“The program really forced you to sit, think, and look deep within yourself.” -Past participant
