More Info

The Ukraine Civilian Defense Fund provides defensive military equipment such as body armour and surveillance technology (no weapons) directly to civilians defending Kyiv  - the Territorial Defense

The citizens of Ukraine are boldly defending their homes against the Russian invasion. They have displayed uncommon resilience and bravery in the face of incredible odds. Ordinary people—mechanics, doctors, tech workers, teachers, farmers, and lawyers—are fighting for their freedom. They need our help. Your donation will help these brave civilians to obtain the technical defensive equipment they need to protect themselves, their families, and their country.

“The fight is here. I need ammunition, not a ride.” — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Why Donate to this Fund?

Donating to humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross is an effective way to send aid and provide medical supplies, essential support, and emergency assistance.

This fund was started as an alternative way to support citizens on the ground. It is a response to requests from contacts in Ukraine. We encourage everyone to donate to both defensive and humanitarian support initiatives if they can.

What's already been done?

Our contacts in Kyiv have received 10 shipments from international and regional donors since Mar 3, 2022.

What equipment are we sending?

Contacts in Kyiv that are in touch with the Territorial Defense have requested the following equipment: body armor, helmets, drones, binoculars, thermal imagers, radios.

About the Fund Organizer

The fund organizer is a Canadian citizen living in California. He works in technology sector with a background in drones and operations. This included work in Kyiv for an extended period of time. The contacts mentioned in this description are his direct connections, participating in Ukrainian civilian defense. He is available to speak with by video or phone call.

How it works:

1. Donations are made here

2. Equipment is purchased in California

3. Equipment is shipped to a contact in Poland

4. The shipment is received by a friend at the Poland/Ukraine border

6. Equipment is distributed to civilians that are actively engaging in combat to defend Kyiv

If a reliable shipping provider is found the equipment will ship directly to my contact in Kyiv instead of transferring via Poland.

How the organizers are accountable:

1. All funds and purchases are tracked in a spreadsheet and accessible to donors

2. All receipts available upon request, linked to spreadsheet

3. Photos of equipment will be posted upon arrival in Kyiv

4. Contact with recipients can be arranged through me (video chat, phone call etc)

5. I'm available by phone or video chat

6. Detail about specific equipment will be linked in spreadsheet
