I am raising money for a new program bringing dance to schools where the student population is overwhelmingly disadvantaged. This program will bring dance into the students lives helping them through movement.
I have been blessed to have dance in my life since I was a toddler learning how to point my feet and tap my toes. To begin to tell you what dance has meant to me and my life would take numerous volumes of books. In 2007 I walked into the JCC a young dancer/teacher wanting to make a difference with my love of dance. Over the years I know I have made my mark on many lives; but have always felt like something was just missing. Enter in my Bat Mitzvah age students asking for help with their Mitzvah projects. From this ask; this idea and project was born.
This program will begin in 1 elementary school in Doraville GA. The student population of this school is 97% free and reduced lunch as well as 98% immigrants. These are children who are wonderful students and beautiful souls. Children who do not get the extra curricular dance lessons at fancy dance studios like I did as a young child, and like my students get. This program will provide 15 students to start (with hopefully a larger future) brand new dance attire and ballet shoes; a weekly ballet class until the end of the school year and a costume for an annual dance recital.
The program is a relativity low cost program and one I have wonderful plans for the future to bring it to more students and more schools.
This program is only $70 a child to run for this semester. About the average cost of one class a month at a local dance studio. Please consider giving the gift of dance to a child whose life may be changed because dance and the beauty of dance has been brought into their life.

The average share raises $97.
