Donations will help offset the 35 - 60% loss in revenue that our DAM company has experienced for 10+ months now. Funds will be applied to staff salaries, overall operating costs, & finally finishing our floors!
Arts & Entertainment have been one of the hardest hit industries during this ongoing crisis. Covid 19 has meant the indefinite suspension of theatrical performances, special events, public appearances, and community gatherings. While our DAM Studio has managed to keep our doors open with limited capacity, dancing in masks and distancing, the DAM Entertainment production company / special event portion of our services has come to a complete and total halt for 10+ consecutive months now. We rely very heavily on gigging, performing, and producing shows and special events in order to keep our business 'in the black'. As a result of these covid related struggles / losses, our DAM business overall has been experiencing 30-60% less median revenue for almost a full consecutive year now. (sigh)
No one knows how much longer this will go on or if we will ever be able to truly 'catch-up' and regain our financial footing in the future. What is known, is that we are undoubtedly very DAM lucky to be one of the small businesses still standing and are most GRATEFUL to all who support us! Rest assured, we will NEVER stop giving 110% to the community we serve! This has been difficult for everyone but luckily, we dancers are very resilient people :)! I am sooo very proud of the dozens of ways we have managed to keep pivoting and reinventing our services. Virtual options, remote learning, new media creations, and parking lot performances, just to name a few! (check out our social media, videos & links!)
So, can you spare a few DAM dollars? ... Any donation amount, big or small, will help relieve tremendous financial stress and enable us to remain focused on the most important needs of our dance students, staff, teachers, and families! Your contributions will be applied toward paying staff, overall operating costs, and (hopefully) being able to finally finish our new space!
After relocating our studios to this bigger and better location in June 2019, we were just weeks away from completing the build out when the pandemic hit. There are still two remaining, much needed projects that were scheduled for late March 2020 ...
1) refinishing the hardwood floor in Studio B 2) replacing the Marley flooring for Studio A.
Both of the specialty floors are over 25 years old and were repurposed from our old space. These very necessary, planned improvements had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. New dance floors would surely have a huge impact for our students!
On behalf of our entire DAM family, I sincerely thank you for your consideration & contribution :) Happy dancing! Stay safe & be well.
Much Love & Many Smiles,
Jessica Page & The Dance Art Media Team
