I'm raising money for my girlfriend Amira. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and has to undergo surgery to remove the whole uterus. The cancer has formed rapidly over the past two years. Please help us, urgent!
We first met in Mexico and after the first week of meeting each other we had to part ways. I was continuing my journey south into Latin America and Amira had to fly back home to Argentina. We stayed in contact and exchanged messages via Whatsapp but I never thought our continuous conversations would end up me making Argentina my last destination before flying home.
Amira never new of my arrival until the following day when I surprised her. She was shocked and full of emotions. She quit her teaching job, left her family and we both left to start our new journey in England.
It felt strange to return home after 3 years of being away. I could see that the changes in my house were drastic. I was overwhelmed and sad about the condition of the house. It needed a lot of TLC and the only person who helped me persevere and combat this burden was my girlfriend Amira. She worked hard everyday and supported me, so little by little we witness the house turning into something we never imagined. We even noticed my family members coming out of their shells and using the spaces that were once abandoned, such as the kitchen, the living room and the garden. The impact was most noticeable in my mother, my little sister and the pets.
Unfortunately, I ended up developing atopic dermatitis. We thought it would eventually disappear by using some prescribed creams from the doctor. However, the condition worsened especially around Christmas.
Although we managed to transform the house, I suffered from depression, pain and I couldn't go out for long. The eczema was especially active around the cheeks, eyes, lips, neck and arms.
We came to the conclusion that we had to leave as the doctors were not of much help and the creams were not helping either. So we made the decision to go back to Mexico were we first met. We took all our savings and invested in our new life in Mexico.
Although the condition of my skin eventually improved thanks to the help of the ocean and the warmer climate, life still had one more big obstacle we had to defeat.
Amira was diagnosed with cervical cancer which definitely caught us off guard as she had previously gone under surgery before leaving Argentina.
As we all know receiving news like this is not pleasant for anyone. Especially when Amira has to have the whole uterus removed and therefore rules out any possibility to have children in the future. What is even worse, is the fact that the surgery is a really expensive procedure and it's money that we don't have after moving and settling in Mexico.
Amira teaches English at a private institute but the hours barely help us make ends meet. Myself, I work online as an English teacher and although some days are better than others, I still struggle to earn a consistent income. Therefore, we ask friends and family to help and support us through this very difficult moment. We are asking you to help us with a small contribution or, if that was not possible, you could share our page to help us reach our goal.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we pray and have faith that everything will be okay.
Thanks for reading our page,
Amira and Arthur
