The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed our lives. Take something as fundamental as our experiences of space: our mobility has become severely restricted – reduced to jogs or walks a few kilometres around our homes. Perhaps less obviously, the lockdown has also affected our experiences of time.

When it comes to the two major challenges the UK faces — the handling of the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit — two thirds (65%) think the pandemic is more concerning for their personal finances, while just a fifth (21%) believe Brexit is the bigger threat, Nationwide Building Society found.

The findings were published as part of Nationwide’s savings index which was compiled from a survey of more than 11,000 people across Britain in May.

Almost one in six people have had to dip into their savings as a direct result of COVID-19, jumping to more than a quarter of people who are unemployed.

With many people facing uncertainties over their employment prospects and finances, Nationwide’s index also points towards people preferring not to touch their savings at all, if possible.

The sight of empty supermarket shelves in March brought into question whether our food system can cope with the impacts of Covid-19. As shelf-stackers worked tirelessly, the government and supermarket executives continued to reassure the public that food shortages would not occur. What began as a surge in demand for canned and dried foods (not to mention soap and loo-rolls) was then followed a week later by retailers struggling to keep fresh food available

What we want to do -

Provide a food/essential care package that will contain food items, water, sanitizers, and daily use items such as toilet rolls, and personal hygiene products.

We have a small group that volunteer to make a small difference to the people in need...we often organise events to raise funds for the economical disadvantage.

Each pack will be boxed and filled with enough food and items to last atleast 2 weeks for a family of 4/6 on an average calculation.

Our volunteers will also fill, pack, and deliver locally and use delivery firms to reach wider areas.

We will try and help as many families as possible depending on donations.

This is just the first campaign of many more to come as we prepare to talk to more and more suppliers to get the best possible prices and donations.

thank you very much for taking the time to read, if you happen to donate then we appreciate every single penny..

we hope to update each campaign, funds, stats on how your funds are being used...

take care and stay safe.....
