From Christina Allen

The COVID-19 outbreak has made many Ohio State students experience financial strain, making it difficult to buy food. We are fundraising to donate grocery gift cards to students in need!

Our Story

Best Food Forward was founded in 2017 with the vision offering healthy food to the Ohio State community at half of the cost of the grocery store. We do this through the power of bulk buying. We harness the power of numbers to purchase produce in bulk directly from the wholesaler to minimize mark-ups and provide a package to our customers at about 50% of the cost of grocery stores.

In response to COVID-19, The Ohio State University was forced to cancel all activities through April 20th, making us unable to serve the community through our normal model. While the university is closed, this does not mean that the need for affordable food has disappeared. In fact, the need is greater than ever. With many students who have lost their jobs and lost access to our normal services, affording food can be very difficult.

To address the apparent need, Best Food Forward is now offering gift $20 gift cards weekly to eligible students through the end of April. In order to sustain the program and make it available to every student who needs it this resource, we must raise more funds.

A donation of just $20 can help a student buy the food they need to support their health and ease the stress of making ends meet in this difficult time. Please support us with a donation so that we can together make Ohio State a healthier and more vibrant community of BFFs :)
