OUR FUNDRAISER

As you may know, the Early Learning Division has set specific requirements for child care centers during COVID-19, including smaller class sizes and increased staffing for cleaning.  Eugene Child Development Center is operating within these restrictions which means we are not running at full capacity, therefore are not functioning with our standard budget. Unfortunately, although we are bringing in less money each month, we continue to have fixed operational expenses – such as rent and utilities – that we still need to cover in order to ensure the continued operation of our Center.  We must continue to pay those fixed expenses to both assure our ability to reopen at full capacity when the restrictions are released and to avoid future rate increases to cover those expenses incurred while functioning at a loss.

We are committed to making sure that the totality of these expenses does not fall on our Center families and so we are reaching out to our community and the communities of those families to ask for their help in making sure that we are ready and able to see all of our Center kids walk through our doors with smiling faces once again.

ABOUT US

Founded in 1988, EWEB Child Development Center began as a child care center for EWEB employees, as well as the general public. When EWEB sold the land on which the center was located to the city in 2018, the center moved locations and officially became Eugene Child Development Center.

Eugene Child Development Center is a non-profit organization overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of parents, guardians, staff representatives, and the Center Director. Our mission is to provide a warm, safe, and healthy environment where everyone is accepted and respected and where growth and learning are nurtured for each child.

We strive to make learning natural, enjoyable, and active. Through balanced curriculum, engaging activities, community involvement, and a welcoming space, we encourage children to act on their ideas, grow their problem-solving skills, work as a team, and develop as a whole person.
