NYC Autism Charter Schools in East Harlem and the Bronx have been so touched by how many of you have reached out ask how you can help during these unprecedented times. We have been working tirelessly to make the transition to remote learning a reality for our students and their families.

We have developed a remote learning plan for each of our students and families, with designated NYCACS staff members charged with providing direct instruction to students when possible and/or coaching to family members or caregivers.

We will continue to assess family needs beyond just student instruction – which will likely grow as time passes. Basic support and supplies are at the top of the list.

Many of the plans we’ve put in place are dependent on families and staff having items and supplies in their homes. Things like tablets, printers, paper, scanners, laminators, start-and-finish activities – the list goes on… Given this growing need and your desire to help, we created a campaign to raise funds specifically for all COVID-19-related costs.

Our teachers, students and families need our help now more than ever. We thank you in advance for your generosity as well as the continued support of our 72 students and their families. We wish you all good health and fortitude as we weather this storm together.
