The Covid-19 lockdowns and isolation of 2020 brought many ups and downs for all of us. That was true for me as well, but it also brought a season of darkness in my soul that caused me to have to dig down deep into what the Lord was teaching me and working out in me. In his faithfulness, he met me there - as he always does, and proved himself trustworthy to bring healing to even the most neglected parts of me. It was in walking through this valley that I found my songs. I have been a singer for as long as I can remember, and I have been *trying* to write songs for a long time too...but nothing ever really came of them. I had notebooks filled with lyric and melody ideas, but these songs just sat like unpainted row houses on an unpaved street at the edge of town. They needed life breathed into them. I needed life breathed into ME. I didn't know it, but the Lord had a plan to bring me into a community of encouragers who fanned the flame of what God was already doing in me, and came alongside me to paint those houses, pave those roads, and even build new ones with me. It didn't take long before the story of what God wanted for me unfolded, and it was simply this: to tell the story of HIM. And so that is what I'm doing. It is my hope that the stories I tell of God's faithfulness will resonate with YOU and the story He is unfolding for you, and that these songs will draw more people in to His story. The Lord has been so kind to allow me to do life and community with you all for the past fifteen years. I pray that he will continue to allow me to serve in my capacity as a fellow worshipper and leader alongside you for many more seasons. THIS venture is a PERSONAL step of faith, and although I hope that my musical journey will impact my ministry and service at EVC in many positive ways, please know that it is not directly connected to EVC or to my capacity in work or ministry there.
