Hello, I am writing on behalf of my eleven-year-old son, Lincoln. He attends Grandville Public Schools and participates in many activities such as; Peer to Peer Mentoring, Bible Club, IMAGE (A gifted and talented program.), all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Lincoln is also very active in many sports. He plays competitive football, basketball, and lacrosse, but has a true passion for baseball. Lincoln plays travel baseball for the Grand Rapids Flames. Flames Sports is one of the largest faith-based, non-profit travel baseball and softball organizations in West Michigan.

Next summer, his team is hoping to travel to Cooperstown, NY for an incredible week long  experience centered around baseball. This special tournament draws players from around the nation and is considered to be a young player’s dream come true.

The tournament is very costly, with a price tag of $1,100 per player and coach. This price includes a great deal of benefits such as:

  • Meals and Accommodations

  • Player Home and Away Uniform (hat, jerseys, and socks)

  • Player Warm-up Set (tournament & mock Ts, batting practice jacket and hat)

  • Secondary Insurance (team coverage)

  • Seven Games Guaranteed (weather-permitting)

  • Team-Provided Umpire

  • Personalized Player Baseball Cards

  • Induction into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame

  • American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Tournament Ring

  • Ticket to the National Baseball Hall of Fame

We will have a banner with all of our sponsors’ names to fly high with pride. Over 200 teams and their families will be able to see who helped support our involvement in the tournament.

Lincoln and his teammates work hard as athletes and to be successful in everyday life. As a parent, I want to reward him with doing what he loves, especially when baseball is such a positive and healthy outlet. I know he and his teammates would greatly appreciate any donations you are able to give, and you’ll help a team of twelve year-old boys’ dreams come true by going to Cooperstown.

Sincerely,

Brooke & Lincoln Schachermeyer
