Our non-profit travel ball team from Hollister, CA is looking to raise funds to go to Cooperstown, NY - the opportunity to play in the place where baseball began. The tournament of a lifetime!
Let me tell you a little about these kids - they LOVE baseball. They have all played together off and on throughout the years of Little League. They have been opponents, they have been teammates. Some have been on travel ball teams together. But mostly they are ready to play ball - all day, every day. Even if they find random items like a bottle cap and a stick - they will turn it into a baseball game, rather than sitting still.
Hollister, CA is super competitive when it comes to all sports, but baseball seems to have a special place in the heart of our town. During the season, you can count on a crowd at the field. We cheer for every kid on every team - and now is a chance to give these kids the chance to play in an amazing tournament that will give them a lifetime of memories.
Coaches are unsung heroes. They give so much to the kids, to the sport. So much time. So much heart. I have had the pleasure of working along side each of our coaches several times over the past few years - each of them has contributed to not only my player's character, but to the whole team. Each one of the coaches that are leading our Cooperstown journey is top notch. They want to not just see us go to Cooperstown - they want us to COMPETE. They want a team that will show up and give it their all. And they will help us get there together.
The cost per player and coach is approximately $1500 per person. That includes a dormitory stay, meals, uniforms, laundry service, a trip to the Baseball Hall of fame - and so much more. We will be a team of 13 players and 4 coaches.
But, we can't expect these kids to play without their biggest fans cheering them on!
We want our team and the families to be able to go and experience all that there is to offer in Cooperstown. It is a long journey from California to New Jersey. It is a week off work. It is travel expenses. It is the cost to stay. It is a big ask of our families and a HUGE commitment by all to make this happen.
Our goal is to raise not only the cost per player for the tournament itself, but beyond. We want to be able to give to the families a little bit of money to help make the experience a little easier to manage.
Any bit that we can raise through this crowdsource effort and other local fundraisers will 100% go back to the players, coaches and families - specifically for the cost of this tournament. Every dollar helps, and is greatly appreciated.
For taking the time to consider supporting this dream. The kids are so excited for this opportunity, and it is my honor to try and make that dream come true. So thank you, from the bottom our hearts.
