We're raffling a US Flag that was flown over the US Capitol in DC in honor of Firefly's first flight of Alpha. All proceeds will be used to develop AubreyAlert: a global sexual assault prevention network.
Let's face it, we are not very good as a society about preparing for or preventing sexual assaults. Most Federal and State resources are used for educational attempts, or after the fact victim's funds - yet what do you do when it just happened, or it's happening right then? Who do you call, where do you go, what do you do? There are so many questions, that many never find the answer until it's too late.
After my daughter was raped - I found myself learning the unfortunate reality of sexual assault victims. The lack of resources, information, and the emotional trauma support was appalling.
Eventually, after years of therapy, and an amazingly strong daughter who wanted to make the world a better place for her children, she had an idea and we started developing technology to assist sexual assault victims find resources, protect against attackers, and provide evidence to support criminal prosecution. We have a ways to go to complete the project, and are hoping to raise funds to get to the next milestone. We're fortunate in that the primary technology is now complete!
So, what does this have to do with a US Flag and Rockets? Well I have had an amazing career in Aerospace & Defense, with the latest endeavor supporting the development of Firefly Alpha's launch vehicle for the last 4 years.
On September 2, 2021 - Firefly made it's first attempt launching the Alpha rocket. Although minor complications prevented it from achieving orbit, by all accounts it was a wildly successful launch. As Firefly prepares it's second launch vehicle and becoming a strong player in the market, I have departed ways and will be pursuing www.AubreyAlert.com in earnest. During my tenure, I received the commemorative US Flag that was flown over the US Capitol building during Alpha's maiden flight. I am using this historic item to help raise funds and awareness for AubreyAlert. The funds raised here will be used to further the development of the minimal viable product to pursue funding for commercial development.
The mobile applications core technology allows users to setup a personal phrase to trigger an emergency notification system. Once triggered, the application starts recording audio, and sends GPS location to their trusted emergency contacts who can then use the information to call the police and catch the perpetrator in the act. After an event, the application will provide a guide for rape kits, police reports, and other resources such as lawyers, therapists, and victim support groups. In addition, we are proposing legislation will certify AubreyAlert as a security system so that the audio recordings and data gathering would be admissible in criminal prosecution.
Our goal is to minimize the endless he said she said court cases building confidence for more victims to speak up knowing that they have a chance at justice. With our technology targeting active assaults, we're expecting to pave the way for further advancements in protecting victims from sexual assaults, trafficking, and eventually kidnappings.
Please contribute until your heart's content for a worthy cause and a chance to collect a once in a lifetime commemorative flag for the next innovative commercial launch company while you're at it!
We will continue raising funds until Firefly's second launch attempt so keep an eye on Firefly.com for more information.
