"I didn’t feel like we were giving up. I felt like we were doing the right thing, taking the next step to the place that would take care of him like I couldn’t.” - Annette Duncan, wife of former Shepherd's Cove patient

During this season of glad tidings, you understand the value of peace and hope in life. But for someone facing the end of life, the stress of terminal illness can steal joy from the holidays. Of all the gifts you give this season, the most impactful could be the gift of comfort and joy to those facing an end-of-life journey. Your financial support of the Shepherd’s Cove Hospice inpatient unit does just that.

From meeting the needs of the family to paying attention to subtle cues that indicated Robert was uncomfortable, the inpatient unit staff helped Robert, Annette, and their family let go of fears and concerns around Robert’s diagnosis. Instead the family could spend their time and energy making the most of every moment together.

You can help make Annette’s wish come true and bring this same hope to others facing the end of life this holiday season. For many families, the Shepherd’s Cove Inpatient Unit is literally “peace on Earth,” bringing comfort and joy during desperate times. But with aging equipment, capital needs, and low reimbursement rates, the inpatient unit needs your support to continue serving the community.

Annette and her family found hope during her husband’s illness, thanks to the generosity of people like you. With your help, Shepherd’s Cove serves anyone in need of services, regardless of their ability to pay. Since the inpatient unit opened in 2007, it has provided a place of rest to many weary from the end-of-life journey.

We need your help today to continue offering this same high quality care. From providing for equipment upgrades to meeting basic needs for each patient, your financial support for the Shepherd’s Cove Inpatient Unit helps bring comfort and joy in some of life’s most difficult circumstances. How can you help others find hope this holiday season? No matter how big or small, we appreciate every dollar given to help hurting families.
