We're back! Join us for drop-in pond hockey and open skating at Evergreen Lake (CO) to help raise money for the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. Don't live in CO? Rep a shirt or consider a small donation!
On Saturday, February 8, join us for drop-in pond hockey and open skating (all skill levels welcome) at Evergreen Lake, recognized by CNN as one of the world's most beautiful rinks. Not sure you want to hit the ice? Check out the details below for more ways to get involved.
Thanks to all of the incredible support from last year's Colorado Cancer Shutout, we were able to start a fund with and donate $15,000 to the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, one of the best cancer centers in the world. Funds specifically benefit esophageal cancer research (learn more about esophageal cancer here). As our dad fought his own case of esophageal cancer with the support of these same doctors, this event was the rallying cry of our friends, family, and community. In honor of World Cancer Day on February 4, we're carrying on the torch and continuing the fight. So, let's drop the gloves.
Join us for a day of casual drop-in hockey and open skating! Donations optional.
What: Drop-in pond hockey (all skill levels welcome) + open skating + t-shirts. Private warming hut will be available (BYOB). Can't make it? Buy a t-shirt or donate the amount of your choice!
When: Saturday, February 8th from 11am - 2pm.
Where: Evergreen Lake in Evergreen, Colorado
What's the shirt about? There's no such thing as too many t-shirts. On the front left chest, the adapted tournament logo. The back is home to a large University of Michigan block M, and a call to join us in this fight against esophageal cancer. Shirts are available as 1) classic men's cut, 100% pre-shrunk cotton, Fruit of the Loom or 2) Premium Next Level cotton/poly blend...a.k.a. soft. Please consider adding a small donation with the purchase of your shirt.
Whether you've never skated, barely skated, or you starred in The Mighty Ducks, we encourage all skill levels to take a quack at it. There is no need to sign up, but we would appreciate an RSVP (email email@example.com). Donations are optional.
An entry fee is required at the Evergreen Lake house. It is $6 if you have your own skates, $9 if you need to rent (skates and entry included).
Any questions? Email Torie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
