Dear Friends,

I have been blessed by your prayers, good thoughts and financial support during my battle with colon cancer. As I continue with chemotherapy through next spring, I remain focused on a positive outcome thanks to your acts of kindness. Though we are separated by distance, know that I hold you close to my heart.

One Love,

Michael

More Info

Our father, Michael A. Jones, has always been there for his family, his friends and his colleagues.

Today, we're asking you to be there for him. Several months ago a preliminary diagnosis indicated that Dad had a stomach ulcer, but recently, it was determined he has colon cancer. He underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor. We are fortunate to have here on the island, the expertise of world renown, Dr. Jerome Canady, an oncological surgeon.

Soon Michael will leave our home on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands for treatment evaluations in Washington. DC. Ultimately, Dad will undergo a lengthy course of chemotherapy, possibly radiation. During the past three years, Dad has devoted himself to rebuilding our family home, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Maria in 2017. It was the worst natural disaster to hit the island in thirty years.

Dad's work on the house was nearly complete before he was faced with this medical challenge. Our medical bills are significant, and there will be more in the months to come with his out-of-network care. We understand these are hard times for many of us, however, if you can, we would appreciate any assistance to lighten our financial load.

Any support (prayers included) will help ensure that Dad gets the proper medical care so he can focus on his road to recovery.

The Jones family thank you for your consideration, love, support, prayers, and positive thoughts.

Update #2

A Thank You and Update from Michael

Dear Family & Friends,

Your love and support have touched my heart during my battle with stage II colon cancer. My doctor was able to remove all of the cancer during my initial surgery in St. Croix. I recently underwent additional testing in Washington D.C., and I'm pleased to report the cancer has not spread and is not in my lymph nodes or organs. I'm home in St. Croix and will have a port implanted as I begin six months of chemotherapy. Additional tests will follow and likely a surgery to reconnect my colon after chemotherapy. My family and I are forever grateful for your prayers, positive thoughts and financial assistance.

One love,

Michael
