Could you climb a mountain while carrying 500 pounds on your back? It’s hard to imagine! Yet that is exactly what Steve Jones will attempt to do at the Climb For Life event at Roundtop Mountain in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania on Nov. 3.

Why? To raise vital funds to help needy individuals overcome drug or alcohol addiction so they may live as healthy, productive, accountable individuals. Your donation will help individuals and families break the cycle of addition and save countless lives!

This unique fundraising event will support Gaudenzia, a nonprofit addiction treatment and recovery organization, www.gaudenzia.org.

The public is invited to cheer on Steve Jones as he makes his ascent up the mountain. He’ll start with 200 pounds, and spotters will add more weight to his barbells on his way up—maxing out at 500 pounds.

ABOUT GAUDENZIA:

Gaudenzia helps individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol dependency, mental illness, and related conditions to achieve a better quality of life and become accountable individuals—especially women and their dependent children.

In fact, the number of babies born drug dependent has surged. Born addicted, opioid babies suffer withdrawal from their first breath. Your donation will help individuals and families in your community overcome the ravages of addiction—especially women and children. By providing expectant mothers with residential treatment that the mother and infant together, Gaudenzia can save two lives at the same time.

Gaudenzia’s Women and Children’s specialized programs help single, pregnant/parenting women and their children in an enhanced therapeutic community environment. Treatment emphasizes responsible behavior through sobriety. Clients learn life skills, parental skills, house job responsibilities, and assistance with educational, vocational training, and employment needs.

Serving nearly 18,000 individuals annually, Gaudenzia operates 169 drug and alcohol treatment programs at 101 facilities for men and women in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. Services include specialized programs for pregnant and parenting mothers, adolescents, and people suffering from co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.

Every dollar raised will restore health, rebuild lives, mend families, and provide hope and healing to people desperate to overcome addiction!
