Wow!!! We are so thankful for everyone's support. Because of our wonderful friends, family, and even some complete strangers who decided to shower us with love, we were able to donate $10,000 to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. Next steps will be meeting with the team there, to discuss the plan for the mobile training education plan!!!

More Info

Claire Whitten Raphael was 10 1/2 months old when her life was cut short due to negligence at her in-home child care as a result of unsafe sleeping in 2015.

Since her passing, Claire's family advocates for safe, affordable, and accessible high-quality childcare both in Washington State and Washington DC. As part of their efforts in Claire's honor, on April 24, 2018, the Claire Raphael Training Room opened at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, WA from a mix of donations from Claire's parents, Microsoft Corporation, and close family friends.

While meeting with Mary Bridge staff in 2018, the family learned of Mary Bridge's goal to provide a  mobile version of Claire Raphael Training Room  throughout the state. This will be an incredible way to help children throughout the state by improving the ability of hospital staff to respond to emergency room scenarios involving children. Unfortunately, the main obstacle to this wonderful dream is the financial component.

Having seen first-hand how the dedicated and unbreakable Mary Bridge staff worked to save Claire that day has made the Raphael family know one thing for sure: every family deserves the same training, dedication, and support from medical staff for their children equivalent to what Claire received that day.

Through your donation for a mobile clinic, MultiCare will be able to train medical personnel all over the state with high-tech simulators and enable teams to practice resuscitation scenarios with in-the-moment feedback. This high quality training will save the lives of children, but depends on donations to get it off the ground.

We appreciate your support, all in our sweet Claire's memory!
