At a terrible time in my life just a few years ago, I was faced with an overwhelming choice: Accept my stage 4 cancer diagnosis, be thankful for the three months they said I had left and say goodbye to my family; or choose to fight and try to squeeze out every single second I could find.
For me, there was only one choice.
I believe that as long as you’re alive, you should be fully alive. Because if you are not living, you are dying…
I can assure you that no one has a guarantee in this life. But I’m taking my choice to stay alive to a new level.
I want to take my fight with cancer and all of the lessons I have learned from going through it to help other people — with and without cancer — to change their lives.
One of my close friends has told me over and over that sharing my story could make a difference in the lives of others – not just for all the people fighting their battle with cancer, but anyone facing challenge and adversity in their lives.
Through the grace of God, I would like to take you back with me along a journey that I pray no one else should ever have to experience.
If I’m blessed, you’ll be able to learn some of the same important lessons that I did.
At the top of that list is to hug and kiss the people you love, and never forget to live in the moment.
