We’re raising funds for our legal services 501c3 nonprofit. 75% of the proceeds of this fundraiser will be earmarked specifically for direct legal services to Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) LGBTQIA+ clients.
One more week and we are almost to our goal! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. Please share our fundraiser with those who can help us reach $12,000 if you can!
On Wednesday evening, July 15, Chosen Family Law Center is hosting its inaugural fundraising event and we hope you can join us!
This event will feature Chosen Family Law Center Executive Director Diana Adams, Senior Legal Director Andy Izenson, Trans People of Color Coalition founder Kylar Broadus, Trans Lifeline Executive Director Elena Rose Vera, and other special guests. Learn about the work CFLC is doing to make a life-saving impact for low-income LGBTQIA clients & how you can be a part of that positive change.
Our fundraiser was originally planned for mid-June for #Pride, but we pushed the date back into July to focus on outreach and support efforts for the Black Lives Matter movement, particularly our LGBTQIA+ communities and clients of color, who are among the most vulnerable.
You have the right to choose your own family. We provide educational and legal support to low-income LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and asylum seekers to protect themselves with the legal stability they deserve. We believe in justice for all families, and we’re using our legal and educational resources to make that possible.
Our clients need our help now more than ever. Our project areas include:
Trans Umbrella Project for name change, ID document support, and legal protection package for trans and nonbinary folks.
Asylee Assistance Project to assist those who have already been granted asylum based on persecution for their LGBTQIA status with applying for an Adjustment of Status (aka a Green Card) to ensure their safety from being deported.
Parentage Protection Project for Known Sperm Donor Insemination Agreements & 2nd Parent Adoptions to protect non-biological parents who are in same-sex couples or LGBTQIA;
Poly Families Project family formation support documents for polyamorous families and parent groups of 3 or more.
Queer Kinship Project supports non-nuclear families, caretaking partnerships, and kinship networks with family documents for end of life care, hospital visitation, and other legal connection.
**75% of the proceeds will be earmarked specifically for direct legal services to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) LGBTQIA clients. If we hit our goal, the total will be matched 100%!**
Funds raised through this campaign will be matched by generous donors up to $11,000, so please take this opportunity to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community and help make sure every family - regardless of who they’re made up of - has legal access to live the life they choose.
If we hit our goal, the total will be matched 100%!
