Charles (Chuck) Jerome Smith absolutely loved Michigan State University. His love, compassion, and support for the black students that came to Michigan State were unparalleled; and the likes will probably not be seen for some time to come, if ever again to that degree. Chuck wanted to make sure that deserving students got an opportunity to attend and graduate from MSU. Chuck and other loyal Detroit area Spartans created events to raise money for scholarships in an effort to support students financially. The fruits of his labor touched many and made a difference in their lives. Support the Charles Jerome Smith Endowment Scholarship to ensure his love for MSU and students will live forevermore into perpetuity.
