Dreamcatchers is a non profit therapeutic riding center. That provides over 100 riding lessons each week to children and adults with special needs. The money raised will provide low cost services for these children.
My son is non verbal autistic, he is 4. I have tried every single service that I could come up with. Occupational therapy, speech, therapy, physical therapy, Pecs systems, communication devices, ABA, and so far 2 years of special needs public school. In one month of riding with Dreamcatchers, he has made more progress on his horse than all the other services that have failed. The people who work at dream catchers are amazing, kind, understanding and fill me with a hope that I have lost over the years. They run on donations and volunteers alone, it is amazing what they are doing for these children and adults. Seeing the absolute bliss on my sons face and watching him follow directions melts my soul. Living a life with special needs is hard, dreamcatchers gives these individuals a chance to enjoy a part of life that they might otherwise miss out on, and the relationships that they build with the horses is unbreakable.
