Cary Schmidt was a kind and genuine: husband, father, uncle, and friend. As we like to say, "he was the good cop." Our Dad made growing up easy; he was a great role model showing us how a man should act. He truly believed we could do anything. Dad loved and supported our Mother with all his heart until the day he passed. His faith was immeasurable, and he always lived by his word. He was the cornerstone of our family. He parented us with grace and kindness, disciplining us with love and logic, never violence or anger.
Dad was a great friend who always appreciated those around him, never hesitating to help others. Dad made everyone he met want to be a better person because he set a shining example of kindness, humility, and Godliness. Our Dad was a mentor to our friends, giving them honest and forward advice just as he gave us every day. He saw the good in everyone and the positive in every situation.
To everyone who shared a part of their lives with our family and our father, just know that he loved and appreciated all of you. Thank you for your support during this very difficult time.
