Educational and legal funds are critically needed for Carlos Lopez, Jr. Brooklyn's Stephen Decatur School's Eight Grade''s 2017 Salutatorian, born a month after an NYPD officer accidentally/fatally wounded his father .
It's an "essential must" to send Carlos Lopez, Jr. to a private college prep school, subsequent, top tier accredited university, and Disney World, (that he's requested in recent years) as a deserving youth scholar. However, several static legal and financial matters must e resolved for Carlos Lopez, Jr., his grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Lopez, and her family, to enabling Carlos Lopez, Jr. to fulfill his educational and legal goals.
In June 2003 Carlos Lopez, Jr's distraught mother's critical severe mourning continued throughout his hospital stay. May 3, 2003 a mother before her June 8, 2003 C-Section birth of her son, Carlos Lopez, Jr., his `9 years' young father, Carlos Lopez, Sr. (also her fiance, was mistakenly and fatally shot by a New York City (NYC) police officer, chasing another Black male. Shortly after his childbirth, Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s mother was too emotionally unprepared to raiser her infant.
Thereafter, she received what some may label "divine intervention" from his grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Lopez, who raise him since child birth, among her surviving five children (Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s aunts and uncles) in their urban Brooklyn apartment.
A regretful letter from the Pastor of their Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church n Brooklyn, NYC acknowledges the tragic loss of Carlos Lopez, Sr., their Church's wise, thoughtful and kind Usher and Choir Boy. Traditionally he and his siblings were devoted members of Saint Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Lopez's siblings, including her husband and she, plus her parents were all married at Saint Martin Tours Catholic Church.
Keenly attentive, since his kindergarten years, Carlos Lopez, Jr. is notably gifted sand talented. As Brooklyn's Stephen Decatur's School's Eighth Grade's Class Salutatorian for 2017, his scholarly awards include science, math, sports, hygiene, etc. Carlos Lopez, Jr. is also a rare student recipient of the United Federation of Teachers' (UFT) 2017 'Awards. Already envisioning himself as a lawyer, his creativity peaks noted with his initiative, upon creating a slide featuring his father's legal case. Though Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s popularity is remarkable, noted with his social skills and wittiness, his close friends refuse to ignore him when detecting Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s lengthy solemn moments.
In 2004, celebrity Criminal Attorney Johnny Cochran's endearing compassion entailed retaining Carlos Lopez's, Sr.'s case Pro Bono. Unfortunately, the following year, Mr. Cochran passed. In 2014, the Lopez's depleted their legal research expenses.
By late 2014, National Allotment Insurance and the Number One Star Corporation helped Mrs. Lopez raised $10,00 for the release of Carlos Lopez, Sr.'s legal transcript, etc. NYC'S Cochran Law Firm presented the matter to Brooklyn's Federal Court, concluding Carlos Lopez, Sr.'s innocence. NYC'S Judge Levy, of Brooklyn, NYC advised Mrs. Caroline Lopez to acquire such funds for her son's tragedy, after learning no compensation process was ever provided for Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s family by NYC's Dept. of Justice. This 14-1/2 years frustrating case lingers.
During and since those 10 elapsing years after Carlos Lopez, Sr.s case was heard in 2014, too few NYC lawyers and civic leaders expressed no interest in trying a case previously handled by the legendary Attorney Cochran, without reviewing Carlos Lopez, Sr.'s case transcript.
Mrs. Lopez's family campaigned for some of Brooklyn's elected officials before they were elected, praying they'd at least review Carlos Lopez, Sr.'s case upon being elected. However, those few victorious politicians she volunteered for, were inaccessible for a mere review of Carols Lopez, Sr.'s case.
To date, Mrs. Lopez still seeks means to legally accept NYC'S compensation award for her grandson, and herself, resulting from Carlos Lopez, Sr.'s tragedy.
A few years ago, Mrs. Lopez strongly resisted a City Agency's temporary removal of Carlos Lopez, Jr., from her household, following her health and domestic crisis. Instead, she's among mothers destined for "Mother of Year Awards", as an exemplary mother, and grandmother resiliently healthier than her asthmatic, and occasional blood pressure issues. Her soft-spoken courageous wisdom, and charm is real, also as a mother of five surviving children, whose father and her husband passed a few years ago. It's likely that Mrs. Lopez, and her late husband, genetically empowers her children, reflecting Carlos Lopez, Jr.'s child prodigy wherewithal. He's something to talk about.
