Under the auspices of the Upper Cape Apostolic Church DBA The Source Ministry, the mission and purpose of our non-profit program, Cape Relief, is to provide toiletries, feminine care products, and laundry items to low-to-no-income individuals and families on the Cape and in Southeastern MA at zero cost. For people struggling to make ends meet and those who are homeless or living in shelters, the cost to maintain basic hygiene often falls by the wayside in favor of keeping a roof over their head and food on the table.  If left without clean bodies or clothing, many of the people we serve will avoid work, interviews, school, and other social situations. This impossible predicament stands in the way of their overall success. We try to eliminate the hard decision and restore confidence.

Cape Relief stocks the shelves each month for four shelters, two pantries, and one sober house located in Falmouth, Bourne, and Hyannis respectively. The common thread through each of our service points is that we are typically the sole and/or largest provider of hygiene products to the facility. In addition to providing regular supplies to these seven organizations, we also partner throughout the year with the American Legion New Bedford Post 1 to offer aid to military veterans and relief for disasters. This relationship has fostered an annual sponsorship as a supported nonprofit on the American Legion’s roster. Throughout the year, Cape Relief holds mobile outreaches to distribute goods in under-served neighborhoods, homeless ‘Tent Cities’, and common/accessible public areas in Southeastern MA.
