Yea! Go disruptive Philanthropy!
Center for Asian Mission for the Poor Asia (CAMP) is a non - government organization facilitating development and transformation thru working with depressed communities in Asia.
Currently, many children from underpriviledged neihborhoods in the Philippines do not get to or want to attend school because they do not own uniforms like every other kid who goes to school. While not owning the proper attire is not an impediment for school attendance, the children who do not own uniforms feel embarassment from not being able to "fit in school like everyone else."
CAMP believes that Education is the escape from poverty. The children not going to school because of lack of uniforms can be simply fixed by making these uniforms. CAMP is raising funds to buy materials to make these uniforms for the children and their education!
This is our first US-based online social fundraising efforts. The campaign launched on Philanthropy day, November 15 this year and will run through January 1, 2013.
$20 covers 1 uniform for 1 child. The goal is to fundraise $2,000 to make 100 uniforms for 100 children to attend school in 2013. There is no donation too small! Any contribution will help CAMP procure, produce, and provide uniforms for children while also teaching and empowering mothers and fathers to work by enterprising the uniforms.
If you are looking for causes and ways to make any kind of impact, please consider CAMP! Totally cool and worth it!
