My name is Titan Daum. My friend from work, Badr Rwaili, asked for my help with building his aunt a new house in Iraq because her current home is falling apart. If you would like to assist us, any help is welcome.
Hakam Matrud Dukhan is a 57 year old woman who has been through a lot. Her husband passed away in 2009 and, since then, she has been raising her four daughters and two sons. She and her daughters are not allowed to work due to Iraq's restrictive employment rights for women, and one of her sons was born with a congenital disability that prevents him from working. The other son is the only source of food and income and it has been difficult to make ends meet. Her nephew, Badr, has taken it on himself to raise funds to ensure their home and shelter is livable and not condemned. There is a long, tough road ahead to raise the funds, but any amount from a lot of people coming together can make all the difference.
