A second wave of Corona Virus seems to be inevitable. I am doing more neighborhood concerts than ever. Please contact me, if you would like one on your street ! firstname.lastname@example.org
All of my summer teaching jobs and Festivals have been canceled for 2020. Every bit of income poof....has disappeared. Social distancing does not work well for a professional musician. I have calculated that to be successful paying bills, rent, and producing Online as well as my Neighborhood One-Woman-Shows.I will be relying on the public to help me when able.
I am happy to report that I did manage to raise enough money to begin my Music for Healing and Transitions Program which is a mostly online school program to obtain my CMP certificate. Once completed, I will be a Certified and Fully Insured Music Practitioner.
I have completed the first Module of five.
"A graduate of MHTP is called a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP). This specially-trained musician provides live acoustic music at bedside, one-on-one, for therapeutic purposes. A CMP’s work is focused on the patient with the aim of bringing in-the-moment comfort to the patient’s whole being—emotional, spiritual, mental, and physiological—simply by having the patient be in the presence of the music. A CMP uses only live music, and has no goal other than addressing a patient’s immediate needs to provide a healing environment."
Once certified, I will then be going to all of the local SLO County Hospitals, Care Centers, Transitional Care Centers as well as Memory Care to begin to implement regular full time musical programing into the weekly lives of patients, doctors and nurses and staff. This therapeutic musical presence will be designed by me for each individual situation as it presents itself.
Quarantine Concerts: I am also providing neighborhood outdoor concerts in driveways, turnouts, side yards, backyards, cul du sacs, front porches......social distancing is observed!
