Judy (mom) is having a birthday this November and will be an empty nester for the first time in  36+ years. She's been mom and stood in the gap and raised grandbabies when it has been needed so selflessly. She's constantly doing for others in her life, without ever asking for anything in return.  This next chapter will be for her and my hope is that through this act of generosity, she will be able to do something for herself that brings her JOY.

A few words about the woman that my mom is:

If you were to stop by unannounced to see my mom, you'd most likely find her with her hair pulled back loosely and in comfortable clothes (she'd call it disheveled.. but truly you'd still see the beauty.) You'd most likely find her rocking a grandchild or trying to pick up the toys dispersed on the living room furniture so you can find a place to sit. She'd have already told you six stories, all with a spark in those pretty blue eyes.. and with a sweet, southern accent. She might let you get a word in, but that's not promised.

She would be quick to share that she is about to whip up a fantastic, home-cooked meal. You'd not be disappointed.. and you'd take her up on the offer to take some to-go. You'd find her feeding her grandbabies before she eats anything herself.  How does she do it? How does she care for young grandbabies and find the energy to keep an immaculate house, prepare a hot meal nearly every day, and love so freely on everyone in her path? You'd certainly speculate that she is an angel on earth or that she possesses some other worldly power. Her love is fierce and PROTECTIVE, never lacking authenticity.
