On April 27 Alicia and I are running the New Jersey Half-Marathon Relay and the New Jersey Marathon respectively in support of Breast Intentions of Massachusetts. Honored in 2013 as part of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center 100 (http://www.theonehundred.org/honorees/view/breast-intentions-massachusetts-chapter/), Breast Intentions is a unique organization in that they have no paid employees and 100% of the money they raise goes to directly support breast cancer patients undergoing treatment. Since 2010 Breast Intentions has stepped in with much needed financial support for hundreds of women undergoing breast cancer treatment. They help with the hidden costs of a breast cancer diagnosis. Most of the women and families they aid have never needed any type of outside assistance before, but because of the financial strains of cancer treatment they find themselves just a little short. Breast Intentions has paid rent, mortgages, gas bills, and car payments, or sometimes even just bought a weeks worth of groceries for women undergoing breast cancer treatment in Massachusetts. Please join us in supporting this very worthwhile cause.
