In the spirit of Black History month, we are hoping to raise 3000 to boost our emergency fund that assists Black LGBTQIA+ people in the Greater Columbus, OH area who are experiencing hardships.
Hey ya'll it's still Black History Month and we want to push to the front Black LGBTQIA+ lives and needs. We are asking for $3,000 to raise our emergency fund budget that will help out in the months of March and April. So please share and boost so we can hit our goal and continue to help Black LGBTQIA+ people! Below is the history behind the fund and more details about how it works.
During our first Month of Black Trans Life and Liberation in November 2019, BQIC established an emergency fund to assist Black LGBTQIA+ people in the Greater Columbus, OH area who are experiencing hardship.
Types of emergencies this fund can assist with: bail, medical expenses, transportation, food, etc. We wish we could fulfill the entirety of everyone's requests, but our capacity is limited due to our grassroots nature.
You can make a request of up to $500 every six months -- the max we will give an individual is $1000 per 12-month period. You may also ask for $1000 all at once if our resources allow. If we are able to fulfill your entire $1000 request, you cannot request money again until twelve months have passed.
We might ask to meet up in person, speak on the phone, or video chat with you in order to get more information about your needs.
We will respond to your request within 72 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us email@example.com
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
