Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy and our families are experiencing financial strain, leaving our Club's future uncertain. Please help us continue to be a resource for the kids who need us most!
For nearly 45 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Troy has provided a safe, positive place for youth to grow, learn, play, interact and, most importantly, develop into self-reliant, responsible members of our community. In fact, each year over 1,000 kids from nearly 40 different cities benefit from our programs that instill passion, pride and perseverance. From the time the school bell rings, we help put youth – especially those who need us most - on the path to success by providing a positive and enriching experience.
However, during these unprecedented times, our future is uncertain! And, we are turning to you to ask for your help!
General Operating Support - While our Club is currently closed, we need to ensure that our positive after-school programming and our caring, dedicated staff are here when our youth return. In order to do so, we need to continue to pay staff, develop alternative ways to support students while we are closed, and maintain our facility. However, due to the loss of fundraising revenue and a decrease in paid Club memberships, we are faced with a $50,000 budget shortfall that must be raised to ensure the Club does not close, leaving a tremendous gap in services for our youth!
Student Scholarships - With unemployment throughout our region skyrocketing and families facing unprecedented financial hardships, we know that many kids who need us, won't be able to afford our membership fees this summer. At roughly $500 per student, it will be too much of a burden for many families to bare. To alleviate that barrier, we want to be able to provide 50 students with no-cost memberships for our summer program (starting in mid-June). To do so, we will need to raise $25,000 for Student Scholarships.
While our goals are large, every dollar will help us secure our future and allow us to continue to impact kids. At a time when children have been disconnected from vital resources and familiar places and faces, our programming is needed now more than ever.
Please act now to impact the lives of kids in our community! Your support will help us continue to serve our community, and more importantly, our kids!
