Emily is a children's book author and counselor with a vision for bridging the gap for minority underrepresentation in children's literature; especially for those in the disabled community. As a disabled artist herself, and mother to a neurodiverse child, she is no stranger to navigating the world that so often dehumanizes and discriminates against people with disabilities.

Though trends are slowly rising, only 2% of media shows a person with a disability with real speaking roles and only 1% of children's literature shows a disabled person in a positive humanizing way. It's high time for this change, especially with 13% of the population having a disability.

To make this possible, Emily started Bloom Kids Media with the vision of publishing media content that features underrepresented minorities; especially people with disabilities in a positive light. She has three main project goals:

1. Write and/or publish children's literature with a strong moral, spiritual, and positive psychological framework. (Highlighting minority individuals)

2. Create engaging multi-cultural audio dramas.

Our first project will be highting true stories of persons with a disability who made positive changes to the world. This project hopes to also hire voice actors who also have disabilities. We feel the best people to speak on behalf of individuals with disabilities are people who also experience it.

3. Our biggest project is our film project. Emily has contacted an award-winning screenwriter who has agreed to co-write for the series once we raise the funds. Together they will create a 10 episode children's series featuring a whole cast of disabled characters.

Our mission is to create a more inclusive society that ends the dehumanizing stereotypes of disabled people starting with our youngest generation. Children need to see characters they ALL can relate to and learn from.
