More Info

The orphanage has been founded by Cecilia Piane Ludwig Morris who is originally from Liberia. Ms. Cecilia has been inspired to start the orphanage in 2010 as a fullfillment to a promise she made to herself to help others in needs. She was a victim of war and a refugee and as she faced many ordeals she was inspired by many acts of kindness which she aims to pay forward.

The orphanage is a self-funded project which she was able to start with the help of her husband. She relies on help from kind donors from all parts through an association. The association cares for a total of 106 children (from 0 to 18 years), of which about one third are hosted on a full board at the orphanage

The association has many projects:

- The Daughters Mothers project through which the association assists young girl mothers (currently about 20). It organizes a training workshop for them in weaving bags and making pomades; provides education on family planning and HIV-AIDS, led by a social worker.

- The Widows project through which the association grants loans at very low interest rates to widows to enable them to carry out a fund-generating activity and to be able to meet their needs.

Any help, no matter how small would go a long way.
