I'm raising money for the women who were hit by Jeep during a demonstration in Visalia, CA. As well as to support protesters from Hudson, TX, Portland, OR, New York and New Jersey.
Black lives matter.
Justice for George Floyd. Fundraising for the two women hit by jeep during George Floyd demonstration in Visalia, CA.
That was the theme on Saturday as a few hundred Floyd protesters gathered in solidarity on the corners of Caldwell Avenue and Mooney Boulevard in Visalia. For most of the afternoon, the protest was peaceful, but around 3 p.m. violence broke out at the intersection when a Jeep displaying an American and a President Donald Trump "Keeping America Great" flags knocked down at least two protesters walking in the middle of the road. Karina and another unknown female. Alyssa Ruiz, 20, was driving on Mooney in a car with friends when she said the driver and passengers of the Jeep started mocking protestors by cupping their ears as if they couldn't hear their chants. The protestors then started chanting profanities, throwing items, and approached the Jeep, which accelerated, knocking down both of the students. Alissa Ruiz didn't think any of the protestors were seriously injured, but they were. Although Alissa and her friends were supportive of the protestors and were driving around town dropping off bottled water at various Black Lives Matter sites, they never thought they would hurt these two women.
If you can and want to support this cause not only for the two women directly hit by the Jeep, but for all people whose dignity and respect deserve the GREATEST support, please do it. They are right now on the streets standing out for our Black people!.
