Bike Valet Inc currently has enough funding to cover the rent and insurance for its 100 square foot space at 40 E Broadway, Eugene, OR 97401. This is thanks to regular donations from the President, John Thielking, who contributes earnings from his part time job and SSDI payments. However additional funding is needed to hire staff and expand operating hours to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
At the current location, the facility can accommodate up to 10 bikes for valet parking, and offers free charging for e-bikes. There is no set price for the bike valet service, but donations are encouraged.
With more funding, Bike Valet Inc. hopes to move to a larger venue that can store more than 10 bikes and provide more space to display the fair trade crafts they also sell. Customers using the valet service will receive a 25% discount on these craft items.
100% of donations, minus a small processing fee and tip, will directly support Bike Valet Inc. Donations made through the Fundly page will reach the organization's bank account within a few days, where the funds will be put to immediate use. Please consider joining other generous donors in supporting this community-focused initiative. Thank You.
Donate $20 or more and be entered to win a Swagtron 5 e-scooter worth $300! The raffle drawing will be held at the grand reopening potluck on October 5, 2024 from 4-6 PM at 40 E Broadway, Eugene, OR 97401. You don't need to be present to win. For every $20 donated, you'll receive one raffle ticket. To confirm your entry, email your name, address, phone number, and donation amount to [email protected]. You'll receive a reply with your ticket number(s). This raffle and fundraiser is open only to Oregon residents.
Post raffle date update: All letters in bold above are supposed to be in strikethrough font but Fundly doesn't have that feature. The raffle and potluck were cancelled at the last minute because the only other helper besides John Thielking was too ill to participate. The $180 donation received from anonymous was actually received from John Thielking and although it wasn't stated anywhere John is not eligible to win any prize because he is an officer of the nonprofit. No other moneys were received for the raffle, so no tickets were issued. Just to be sure to cover all the bases and my rear end, John will be receiving a check from Bike Valet Inc for the full amount that was given to Bike Valet Inc through this Fundly page from September 1st 2024 through October 5th 2024 at US Bank at 800 Willamette Eugene, OR 97401 at 9am on Thursday October 17th 2024. Donations are still welcome at this page and are once again tax deductible, as they were not tax deductible during the raffle ticket selling phase. No plans are in the works to do any more raffles. Why is the $180 not being refunded through the Fundly page? Because money really is that tight at this nonprofit and it would cause a huge cash flow headache to wait possibly a few weeks for the money to be able to be donated again.
