Update #2

I'm sure Beverly is tired. Today turned out to be a rough one. We headed out the door to go to the library and we saw a flat tire and the radial wires poking out if the front passenger tire. The tire is completely warped.. But with the help from my neighbors Fransisco and Juan, we got the donut tire on I a matter of 2-3 minutes. At least there was a spare tire. Now just have to go get new tires. I guess we will be paying for tires instead of rent. I hate making decisions like this, but my paycheck only goes so far. I can't do both but I need a car to get back and forth to work. So tires are a priority.

More Info

As a single mom I am back to work and trying to get past the past. I want my son to enjoy our life and have a happy childhood. Watching his mom go in and out of the hospital and losing his dad is a hard way to start. I have a great job, but we are so far behind it's just survival. And since Beverly is so broken although not horribly old, she is going to break down. I have knots in my stomach every time we get into it. She is scary. She groans, she shimmys, she struggles on a good day. She has a leaky transmission, engine is dying, shocks and suspension needs to be replaced, tires need to be replaced, drivers side door needs to be replaced or fixed so it actually opens from the outside and doesn't rain on me when its closed. Minnesota is going to kill her this winter. I want to provide us with a car that is reliable and more than that, safe. Beverly has helped us out, she's been a good daily driver. She is just not going to last. I want us to be safe. I want to have less stress and it would help so much to not have to worry every time I get into our car. Please help us. I want to go back to school and be an example of how to overcome the hard stuff and not just survive it, but thrive afterwards. We just have to get to the part where I can do that. There is not a bus line in this area of Shakopee. If we could afford to move, I could afford to put a down payment or buy another car. Please help. I am at my wits end and so overwhelmed by the stress of even driving my son to daycare in that car. I am terrified of getting hurt or hurting someone else.  The funds would either go to fixing Beverly or to getting a new car (new to us, used to the world).

I realize that the Giving Levels are a lot. So please understand that they are more Financial Goals for the car and what I would do with said funds at each level. I know it's a lot to ask for a $600 chunk of money, but each level is a goal that I can work with.

Update #1

We managed to raise Beverly from the dead. Again.
It took a MacGyver fix and seriously a hanger and some duct tape. Now she works. At this point I would settle for some new tires and a rotation. just to be able to drive in the snow and not slip as much. I am afraid that we won't make it through this winter. I cracked a tooth and have oral surgery on Tues at Chaska Family Dental. God knows I am grateful for insurance because it's a need, and a priority. Please help us out.
