More Info

Heat is the leading weather-related killer in most large U.S. cities, exceeding deaths from hurricanes, tornadoes, lightning, and blizzards combined.  And, the folks most at risk are the elderly, the poor who can't afford airconditioning, and the very young.  We see it in Delaware every year.     It doesn’t have to be that way.

Today, the Heat-Health Warning System (HHWS), used by the National Weather Service, saves many lives across the US every year, but it’s not available in Delaware.

You can help! With your donation, we will change that, and Delaware will be using a life saving warning system by this summer. We have already raised more than $17,000 towards the $35,000 needed to bring the HHWS to Delaware — this Summer and for all Summers to come! Your donation will help us reach our goal of making sure that fewer people in Delaware die from extreme hot weather.

Your generosity can make the difference between life and death for someone this Summer. Please make a tax-deductible donation to Delaware Interfaith Power and Light.
