If you are bald or have thin hair, then this surgical procedure is best for you. This surgery aims to treat the conditions like thin hair and completely or partially balding by adding more hair. The additional hair is taken from the other part of the head or can be plucked from the other parts of the body. Then the surgeon will do the procedure of grafting with that hair and use it on the bald area of the scalp.

As the rate of hair fall or hair loss has been raised during this time, and most people in every gender face this problem. So hair transplant is the best solution for them. In order to reduce the appearance of transplanted hair on the scalp, the surgeons used mini-grafts that looks more natural. So this surgical method is basically the transfer of hair follicles from one part to the other.

Local or general anesthesia will be given before proceeding with the technique. Your surgeon can simply numb that area from the hair will be taken. The transfer procedure of hair from a donor site (from where the hair follicles will be taken) to the recipient site (where the ratio of hair is less) is involved in this technique. From any part of the body, the hair can be taken, but in most cases, the surgeon takes the hair from the back of the head.

There are basically two ways through which the hair transplant is done, and these are;

1.     FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant)

In this method, the surgeon will often remove the portion of the scalp (as a strip) from the backside of the head using a scalpel. After the removal, that area (donor site) will be stitched finely. Then the surgeon will do the process that involves the cutting of that strip into parts that each part contains one or more hair. So there are thousands and thousands of them.

Then the holes will be made by the surgeon with the use of a blade, needle, or any other instrument where the hair will be transferred or transplanted (recipient site). After it, the surgeon will do grafting that involves putting hair from that part or cuttings of the scalp and insert it into the hole. And with the help of bandages and gauze, the surgeon will close the treated area.

2.     FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)

In this method, the hair will be removed from the back of the head.  From the scalp, the doctor will extract a single unit of hair follicles, and then after grafting (making holes in the skin where needed), the surgeon will transplant that hair in the puncture holes. And with the help of bandages and gauze, the surgeon will close the treated area.
