Barry suffered a large Ischemic stroke that left him unable to use the left side of his body. We are raising money to help him pay for his medical expenses and continued treatment and rehab!
On December 21, 2017 - Barry had a large Ischemic Stroke during a routine Rotator Cuff surgery. The stroke left Barry unable to use his entire left side of his body, and required emergency surgery to relieve the pressure from his swelling brain. Barry spent weeks in the ICU and was later transferred to The Shepherd Center for acute inpatient rehab. At Shepherd Center, Barry had to learn how to walk, dress himself, and other daily tasks that were once second nature. Barry is now living at home and completing outpatient rehab at Shepherd Center Pathways.
While Barry has made incredible strides in his recovery, he still has a long journey ahead. Barry is still unable to use his left arm and hand, work, drive, care for himself, and needs 24hr supervision. These funds will be used to pay for his extensive hospital bills, transportation, continued rehab and equipment.
