More Info

Catastrophic fires, the worst drought in history, and record high temperatures are taking a tragic toll on native wildlife in Australia. Hundreds of fires have burned over 18.6 million hectares of land. Many animals were already struggling with a lack of water and food due to the drought. With the fires destroying unprecedented amounts of habitat, food shortages have increased and lack of suitable habitat will be a significant long-term challenge for surviving wildlife.

WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) has been rescuing and caring for wildlife for over 30 years and is the largest wildlife rescue organization in Australia. WIRES mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

WIRES assists tens of thousands of animals every year and last financial year received over 95,000 requests for rescue assistance. Currently we are facing the biggest event in our history as bushfires have burned 5 million hectares of forests and an estimated 1 billion native animals have lost their lives.

Fundraising Event

To help raise awareness and collect donations for this wildlife relief fund, I am hosting a 7 Day Wellness Retreat online! The Mindful Morning Challenge will begin on January 27th 2020.

If you would like to participate in the challenge I would so appreciate it if you could leave a donation here to help WIRES in their mission to rescue, care for, and rehabilitate Australian wildlife in the face of the recent brushfires.
