ATHLETHON a series of 4 fun activities (sprint and hurdle races, shot put and vortex throws) in which children compete to the best of their abilities. Help ASH Pre-K -5th raise funds to improve their playgrounds!
WHAT IS THE ATHLETHON?
Ashbury Pre-K through 5th Graders raise funds to improve their playgrounds by seeking donors to sponsor their participation in the Athlethon. The Athlethon is a series of 4 fun activities (sprint and hurdle races, shot put and vortex throws) in which children compete to the best of their abilities. The Athlethon will be held at SAU MLK Jr. Park.
HOW DOES THE ATHLETHON WORK?
Prior to event: Students find sponsors and share the online link and/or use the donation form. Anyone can donate (LFSF staff should not be solicited). Students return cash and checks on event day.
Thursday, May 24: Students participate in the Athlethon on our SAU campus, MLK Jr. Park. ASH GS-5 students will be bused but PreK1-K2 will remain on ASH for their own activity. Remember: sports attire, hats, sunscreen. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. Students will be supervised by LFSF teachers and parent volunteers.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
Students aim to raise money to acquire Imagination Playground big blue block sets for all pre-school to 5th grade students.
Imagination Playground blocks are an amazing tool to develop creativity and cooperation between students.
