A family of five orphaned children, one of which is three and has Cerebral Palsy, are in need of help. Their aunt (and guardian) has contracted the coronavirus, and is hospitalized in critical condition.
My dearest friend, Dr. I.K., cares for children in neonatal care at Jalaa Children's Hospital. A few weeks ago, she reached out for financial support to help treat Omar, a three-year-old patient of hers who has Cerebral Palsy. Since then, Omar's aunt (and guardian) has been infected with the coronavirus, and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. She leaves at home Omar and his sisters and brothers (age 7, 8, 10 and 13).
The children lost their parents in a car accident in 2016. Since then, their aunt, a young woman herself, was granted guardianship of the children. She has been working diligently as a housekeeper to support them. She is raising very caring and kind children. Please pray for her swift and full recovery.
We are seeking to raise $10,000 to cover the children's expenses for the next year so that, God willing, when their aunt recovers she may direct her attention exclusively to the care of the children.
Currently, the children are being cared for by their eldest brother (13), Dr. I.K., and three other doctors at Jalaa who have been checking-in on them around the clock. Their rent is due - a one year advance of 150 USD per month. In addition to the rent, Omar requires a series of expensive medications and therapies. The doctors get the medications at discounted prices, but they remain expensive and Omar often goes without treatment. The children are in need of clothing, school equipment, and some form of transportation to school and back. At home, the family needs a new refrigerator and oven. The doctors have been helping for many months but they themselves have not received their salaries in several years and are now reaching out for help. Please give whatever is in your heart to give. You may email me at email@example.com if you have any questions, are able to make in-kind donations, or are in a position to make a donation directly to Dr. IK.
Thank you, and wishing you and your families sustained health and peace.(Omar is not the child's real name. I've changed it in this story to protect his identity).
