I am seeking funding to help operate and maintain the Aspieland.org website and podcasts. I want to build bridges of understanding and communication between those who have Asperger's Syndrome and those who don't.
When I first discovered that I had Asperger’s (now called Autism Spectrum Disorder), it turned my entire life upside-down. I had to do some serious re-arranging of my feelings and reactions to life. I became acutely aware of the struggle of the sensory and emotional overload it takes just to get through a single day. I decided to help others who not only have the disorder that I share, but for those of you who may have questions or may have been sadly misinformed about AS/ASD.
I created a place where Aspies can better understand how to live in the Neuro-typical (what is commonly called ‘normal’) world AND for Neuro-typical people can more honestly gain a true understanding of the Aspie-land.
I have begun a podcast called “Aspieland” and have this web site as well. I am hoping that these two parts can create a meaningful bridge between unsupported assumptions and deep understanding between us all.
