Excellent Art Student and DACA Recipient

Blanca Davila Delgado is a senior at Fresno State University. Her area of study is Studio Art with an emphasis in Ceramic. Over the past year Blanca has been working on a series of closed forms which she refers to as “eggs.” These closed forms represent an outer shell of protection for herself and loved ones against the threats of the current administration.

Blanca is wanting to push this series further by making larger pods or “eggs” that would be human sized. This is possible as CSUF is planning to install a new kiln that would enable her to create ceramic sculptures at this scale.

Summers for Blanca are typically spent working long hours in a packing house to pay for her living costs and art supplies throughout the school year. 

Blanca has worked as a volunteer for Phebe Conley Gallery on campus this year. In the Fall she has a good chance of winning the intern position which is funded under the Andrew and Dorothea Perenchio Museum Studies Scholarship. 

We want Blanca to be able to pay for all of her living costs, education costs and be able to make the work she is so passionate about. Her “eggs” reference to home, safety and possible rebirth are so important in a time when she and many other people young and old are feeling insecure about their future and safety.
