Dear fashion-savvy, ethical futurist,
Your support of the Academy of Fashion Arts and Sciences will greatly help as the Academy inspires the fashion industry, one of the biggest polluters in the world and the cause of much misery, to adopt ethical and sustainable materials and practices.
With its hugely influential awards, the Academy honors excellence and vision as fashion, tech and ethics combine to redefine the future.
This through a reimagined annual, televised event along with former Academy Awards executives and major talent and notables in fashion, music and film.
It all started in 1994 when we founded the very first fashion site in the world. FASHION NET, at https://www.fashion.net, launched in January 1995, presenting fashion to what we call the prehistoric web, kickstarting the web we know today by providing early adopters such as vogue.com, style.com and elle.com with their initial traffic.
As we commemorated our 20th anniversary in 2015, we launched the global FASHION NET Awards. After two seasons, 184 nominees and 10 special awards, the 56 winners of the first and second seasons include Tom Ford, Kendall Jenner, Saint Laurent, Johnny Depp, Love Magazine, Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss, Alessandro Michele, Thom Browne, David Sims, J.W. Anderson, Chiara Ferragni, Gucci, Alexander Fury, Vetements and KTZ.
Fur is banned at our events and all catering 100% vegan.
The Academy is supported by the City of LA and the Norwegian government.
